Long Beach Court Increase Awareness Of No Photo Policy

The Long Beach Court has commenced a new awareness to those entering the courthouse that there is a strict policy of no photos within the building. Apparently relying on a longstanding security concern, the security staff have began warning folks by verbal shouting at those entering the new building and posting signs throughout the court rooms. The criminal courts are most concerned about the issue, says one insider, due to the fear that someone may attempt to breach the security and assist in an inmate escape.
One local attorney has spoken out about the blanket ban by saying the rule infringes upon the rights of citizens without a rational basis. No one has filed any written complaints to the presiding Judge but this may soon change. In the mean time, be careful trying to take photos of the modern architecture or the art unless you want a guard to yell at you and possibly confiscate your phone.
